रोहित शर्मा की अगुवाई में भारतीय टीम पहला आईसीसी इवेंट खेलेगी। इससे पहले भारत ने एशिया कप 2022 में भी भाग लिया था, मगर वहां टीम इंडिया फाइनल तक का सफर तय नहीं कर पाई थी।

T20 World Cup- भारतीय विश्व कप विजेता टीम के कप्तान कपिल देव ने हाल ही में भारतीय टीम को लेकर एक बड़ा बयान दिया है। कपिल देव का कहना है कि भारत के ऑस्ट्रेलिया में होने वाले टी20 वर्ल्ड कप 2022 के सेमीफाइनल में पहुंचने की संभावना सिर्फ 30 फीसदी है. रोहित शर्मा की अगुवाई वाली टीम इंडिया 23 अक्टूबर से इस मेगा इवेंट में चिर प्रतिद्वंद्वी पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ अपने अभियान की शुरुआत करेगी। इसके अलावा ग्रुप स्टेज में भारत को बांग्लादेश और दक्षिण अफ्रीका से भिड़ना है और बाकी दो टीमों का फैसला क्वालिफिकेशन राउंड पूरा होने के बाद होगा।

ऑस्ट्रेलियाई परिस्थितियों के अनुकूल होने के लिए भारतीय टीम 6 अक्टूबर को ही विश्व कप के लिए रवाना हो गई थी। वहां पहुंचने के बाद, भारत ने पश्चिमी ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ दो अभ्यास मैच खेले, जहां उन्होंने एक मैच जीता और दूसरा मैच हार गया। इसके बाद ICC ने भी भारत के लिए दो वॉर्म-अप मैचों की व्यवस्था की। भारत ने जहां ऑस्ट्रेलिया से हार का स्वाद चखा, वहीं न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ मैच बारिश के कारण धुल गया।
