TS Baba reaches Delhi to meet high command
Raipur: Regarding the controversial letter of the State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister TS Singhdeo, Congress state in-charge PL Punia has said that Mr. Singhdev should not have made his letter (addressed to the Chief Minister) public. Rather, he should have met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and discuss all the issues. Now the opposition has got a chance to speak about it.
Chhattisgarh state Congress In-charge and party general secretary Punia said in a discussion with the media that the letter of the MLAs has been received. In the legislature party meeting, the legislators have demanded action. I will apprise the national leadership about the whole matter.
Punia said that everything is fine between the Government and the state party organization, there is no resentment anywhere. There is no dispute at all. The government is doing a great job under the leadership of Bhupesh Baghel. Suggestions come inside the party, decisions are taken on it. Those who go to the Corporation-Mandal-Commission, the decision of not keeping them on the post of the organization is correct. He said that at present there is no need for change in the State Congress Committee.
Punia also said that the party high command will soon discuss the matter raised by Singh Dev and necessary steps would be taken by the top leaders after taking account of all the aspects of the issue.
Meanwhile, after writing the letter to the Chief Minister, mentioning that he was no longer willing to hold the responsibility that of the Panchayat and rural Development Minister, Singh Dev arrived at New Delhi on Monday night. He will present his view-points on the whole issue in front of the party high command. Singh Dev left for Delhi yesterday, after voting in the presidential election. Singh Dev said that regarding the Gujarat Assembly elections, Senior Observer Ashok Gehlot has fixed a meeting on July 20 in Ahmedabad. He had made a programme to go to Ahmedabad via Delhi.
Singh Dev said that if a leader goes to Delhi, one always asks for an appointment with the party high command. I have also asked for time, if I get all the issues will be discussed. On the other hand, many Congress MLAs, who were not happy with Singh Dev’s letter, are also preparing to go to Delhi after the monsoon session of the assembly. Even when the politics in the state had heated-up over the two-and-a-half-year formula, about 52 MLAs had reached Delhi. The MLAs had put pressure on the party high command, not to change the chief minister. Now once again the same situation seems to have arisen before the top party leaders.
