New Delhi. People aged between 18 and 59 years will be getting free precautionary doses of the Covid vaccine at government vaccination centres, under a 75-day special drive, starting from 15 July. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expected that this special drive will increase the vaccination percentage in a short span of time. Which is very low currently in comparison to several other countries
Briefing media in New Delhi after the cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said, India is celebrating 75 years of Independence and on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Kaal, from tomorrow till the next 75 days, citizens above 18 years of age will be given booster doses free of cost. He said, the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence.
Meanwhile, over 197 crore 95 lakh Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Over ten lakh vaccine doses were administered to the beneficiaries yesterday.
as regards the number of Covid-affected patients, more than 16 thousand new Covid cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours.Currently, India’s active caseload stands at over one lakh 11 thousand and the recovery rate at 98.54 percent.
The Health Ministry said, around 14 thousand Covid patients recovered in the last 24 hours. 31 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The Governmentt is aiming to increase the vaccination in order to protect the population from the new wave of Covid, which has shown new variant of omicron virus
